Primal Static is a band new to Austin, but both musicians are veterans in their craft. From differing backgrounds HouFei Yang and Greg Thuman have proved their commitment to music as they explore the possibilities between blues, classical and electronic jams.

As a pianist it was more like an actress. Everything was written for you, of course you interpret and you have to understand the work but it was much more as an actress, as if you have to act out. With this it is much more creative force, you have to somehow find you own voice instead of just an interpreter. You have to really dive in and know where your values stand and say what type of music I want to bring to the world.
