Texas State ASG Hosts Roundtable With Administrators

The Associated Student Government held their bi-annual roundtable for students to talk with Texas State administration. These roundtables gave the students the opportunity to talk directly with administrators about any concerns they might have and some ideas on how to improve. Chief of Staff Kaley Bishop talks about how students suggestions at the roundtables could become legislation.

ASG is the only organization that can directly talk with administration so it’s kinda cool students are able come in here give us ideas to write legislation on all those kinds of things to help make our school more of what the students want it to be.
-Kaley Bishop

The roundtables consisted of five ten minute sessions with each administrator there so students could talk to as many as possible. Some administration in attendance President Trauth, Athletic Director Dr. Doctor Larry Teis and Associated Vice President  Finance and Support Services Nancy Nusbaum. I talked to Nancy Nusbaum who oversees parking and transportation about how her roundtable experience was.

It was better than some of the roundtables that I’ve participated in the past because I actually had students come forward with some good ideas rather than just questions and no answers.
-Nancy Nusbaum

Nusbaum also said she wrote down some of the thoughts the students had and is going to investigate them.  ASG holds their meeting Mondays nights at seven p.m. in the fourth floor LBJ ballroom and are open to the public.
