A traffic accident on southbound I-35 took place today. Trey Hatt from the city of San Marcos said that police and firefighters were called in on the scene of a collision at 1:55 p.m.

“The victim stepped out in front of the 18-wheeler,” Hatt said. “and was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The investigation of the cause of the crash is currently ongoing.

Texas State’s Transportation Services have now made changes to shuttle bus times. From now on, buses will run as early as 6:40 a.m., and night routes have been extended to 10:20 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Family Weekend at Texas State kicks off on Friday. The weekend will start with a wine walk for parents to see what Downtown San Marcos has to offer. The walk will be followed by many other activities. To see the full itinerary visit the Texas State website.

Texas State’s School of Psychology was awarded a five-year $1 million grant  from the United States Department of Education. The grant will fund a program entitled SUPERB, or Scholars Using Psychology and Education to Reach Bilinguals. The new grant will produce 24 high-quality bilingual school psychologist. When psychologists obtain the specialist degree they will also be eligible for a national certification and state license to teach in the public school environment.
