Texas State’s University Police Department received calls yesterday from locals complaining of a credit card phone scam. The calls are shown as being from the University Police Department and they have been demanding money for the IRS or to prevent confiscation of property.

The department is asking if you have received any of these calls to please contact them to file a police report.

Last night the fatal accident that shut down FM-1626 led to the death of 60-year-old Austin resident Nancy Sterling Dalton. Buda realtor Jason Floyd Tarr was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

A 32-year-old resident of Kyle, Nicolas Ugalde Campos, was stabbed to death around 9 a.m. yesterday on Dove Lane, which is east of Interstate 35. Two suspects have been identified with this homicide, one being 20-year-old John White. White was arrested and is currently being held in the Hays County Jail.

I-35 Southbound was shut down this morning in Buda and all traffic was being diverted to the access road. The Buda Police Department said a semi-truck overturned this morning near exit 220 and Cabela’s. Buda police officers were on scene and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office was assisting with traffic control. Sergeant Phillip Taylor said there were no fatalities.
