I asked Mayo some fun questions so Bobcat fans can get to know him off the field.
Kiersten Ehr: Mayo reflected on what his dream car would be if he could choose from all the cars in the world.
David Mayo: I would have a GMC Cirerra with the rims all jacked up.
KE: When Mayo isn’t playing his favorite sport for a division one team he enjoys being active outside.
DM: I like to snowboard and wakeboard, stuff like that. Snow board I would say.
KE: Mayo reflected on some of his favorite bands on his current playlist.
DM: I like Breaking Benjamin, Cody Johnson, Paramore, Lil Wayne, Lil Busy; I went to Cody Johnson two weeks ago, it was awesome.
KE: Mayo reflected on his favorite football memory in his career.
DM: Football memory… probably this year hurdling a guy for a sack, it was pretty awesome.
KE: If Mayo could pick his last meal he would keep it simple and go for some American favorites.
DM: It used to be Chinese food but now I would say pizza.
KE: On Mayo’s bucket list he wants to be adventurous and hopefully travel.
DM: I would like to go to skydiving. I’ve always wanted to go to Australia but I don’t really know.
KE: If Mayo could sit down and enjoy some television he would most likely want a Zombie fix.
DM: My favorite show is “Game of Thrones.” My favorite movie is “I am Legend.” I like Zombie movies or anything end of the world.
KE: Mayo enjoys some of San Marcos’ simple pleasures.
DM: I like to go to the river, go to the pool, relax (and) play volleyball.
KE:Â Mayo reflected on some of his favorite things about the Texas State football program.
DM:Â The atmosphere is cool, the coaches are awesome and it keeps growing, which is awesome. It’s great. You see expansion each year, so it’s really fun to play for them.
KE: Without a second guess, Mayo has his celebrity crush on his mind.
DM: Jennifer Aniston.
KE: Before Texas State Football games Mayo likes to keep it simple and focus.
DM: I just like to stay focused, listen to music, stretch, just get my mind right, just nothing special.
KE: David grew up in Oregon and dreamed about playing in his home town. but he notes Texas State is where he is mean’t to be.
DM: I used to be really into the beavers which is in Oregon which is where I’m from. But proably the Seahawks for an NFL team.
KE: Â In looking for a role model in pro football, David chooses Ray Lewis who won 2 Super Bowl Championships.
DM: Ray Lewis has always been really inspirational, he plays linebacker and I’ve always played Linebacker. And he’s a really vocal leader.
