A Wisconsin man is in federal custody today after making threats against president Obama while the president was visiting the state. Brian Dutcher allegedly approached a security guard and told him he would “take out” President Obama if given the chance. Dutcher told investigators that his threats were serious and he wouldn’t have made them if he did not plan to go through with the threats.

150 Texas attorneys have signed on to a letter threatening to file a complaint against attorney general Ken Paxton for his response to the U.S supreme court’s ruling on same-sex marriage. The letter argues that Paxton encouraging Texas clerks to violate the ruling of the supreme court violates the state bar’s ruling requiring attorneys to uphold the U.S constitution.
If Paxton does not change his direction to county clerks in the coming weeks, former director of the State Bar of Texas, Steve Fischer, plans to file a complaint against Paxton.

Governor Greg Abbott will be visiting San Marcos tomorrow to speak at the 35th annual SummerFest Independance Day celebration. The event will be held at the San Marcos Plaza Park where Abbott is scheduled to speak around 7:30 p.m.
