Lockhart vs. San Marcos

Both teams need to win this game to make their playoff scenarios a little easier to understand. I think after last week Carl Ahrens proved he can move this offense. Even though they lost, the offense has continued to shine. San Marcos is undefeated at home and the Lockhart Lions are unbeaten on the road, something has to give. Prediction: San Marcos wins 45-35.

Below is a breakdown for District 27-5A

First things first: Alamo Heights is in. There is not a tiebreaker scenario that in which Alamo Heights misses the playoffs. As far as the final playoff spot is concerned, Lockhart is in with a win over San Marcos OR the combination of a loss to San Marcos by 8 or fewer points AND a Tivy win over Alamo Heights. San Marcos is in with a win over Lockhart AND an Alamo Heights win over Tivy, OR the combination of a Tivy win over Alamo Heights AND a win over Lockhart of 10 points or more. If Tivy beats Alamo Heights and San Marcos beats Lockhart by 9, there would be a coin flip for the final playoff spot between San Marcos and Lockhart.
Alamo Heights can clinch the top DI seed with a San Marcos win over Lockhart AND EITHER a win over Tivy OR a San Marcos win over Lockhart by 7 to 11 points.

Stony Point vs .Pflugerville

Shapiro King for Stony Point has been their workhorse all year long and it’s a name to remember. Stony Point has won three in a row coming into this game and Pflugerville has only won 2 games all year.

Prediction: Stony Point should win this game easily and when they do they it’ll be the first time since 2001 that they are in the playoffs.

McCallum vs. Cedar Creek

This game is a play-in game – The winner is the D1 2nd seed and the loser is done for the year. McCallum hasn’t missed the playoffs since 2001 and Cedar Creek is looking to make it for the first time. Tino Depaz had 310 yards on the ground last week as a freshman. Cedar Creek got off to a 3-3 start but have lost their final three coming into this week. Cedar Creek has given up at least 40 points in the past three games, and have only scored four touchdowns.

Prediction: McCallum will win 52-14 and end the Eagles season.
