Freshmen Middle Blocker Madison Daigle is a Louisiana native who has taken a role as Texas State’s newest offensive weapon. Daigle, as a freshman has been named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Week award two consecutive times. Madison Daigle has averaged 9 kills since this past weekend against UL-Lafayette and UL-Monroe.
Sierra Smith, her last year
Defensive Specialist Sierra Smith is a four-year senior and has been with Texas State throughout the recent conference changes. Smith holds several Texas State records such as most Digs in a Match (37 at UT Arlington), as well as most Digs in a Season (548, 2013). She is a leader of the Texas State Volleyball team and will is playing for a second NCAA tournament appearance in her career.
Erin Hoppe, the Assists Machine
Sophomore Setter Erin Hoppe has started 20-28 matches for the Bobcats with an average 8 assists a set this season. Hoppe is the most consistent player of this team.

Karen Chisum’s 17-11 (12-3 SBC) Texas State Volleyball team has a 4 game winning streak going into the last regular season game. The finale of the regular season is Friday the 13th at 6:30 p.m. against the South Alabama Jaguars. Volleyball loves winning at home as they are 10-2 at Strahan Coliseum this season.
What Happens in the Sunbelt Tournament?
The Sun Belt Tournament is between the eight teams with the best conference winning percentages. The Texas State Bobcat Volleyball team sits in the #3 seed with a 12-3 Sun Belt Conference record. As the #3 seed the Bobcats would face Friday’s South Alabama Jaguars the #6 seed. The Sun Belt Conference Tournament takes place from November 20-22 at Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro, Georgia.
Friday’s game vs South Alabama
South Alabama is 13-12 overall and 7-7 in Sunbelt Conference play as they travel to San Marcos holding a 3 game losing streak. The possible future 1st match-up for the Bobcats, South Alabama will travel to Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos before possibly facing again in two weeks from now. The match will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will air on 89.9 FM.
