Back to school season can be nerve-racking. Most students get anxious about their new classes, new professors and new friends. For some, like myself, thinking about choosing what to wear for school every day can be stressful too.
Texas State University is a big campus and most students have to walk a lot. This is why comfort is a big priority when choosing an outfit in the morning. However, this is not an excuse for not putting in an effort to dress well. Finding the balance between comfort and fashion is not hard as it seems
Many students opt for wearing yoga pants or gym clothes every day because they think it is the easiest and most comfortable option that they have. Well, if you are one of those students, I have good news for you. You can still wear sporty shoes like sneakers but with a fashionable twist.

Sneakers are the “in” item right now. Celebrities and bloggers are wearing them all over the world. What makes this shoe so popular is the versatility it has; sneakers go with everything you have in your closet. There is a style for everyone out there. Even my mom is obsessed with this trend.
Instead of wearing your sneakers with yoga pants, you can trade them for cut out jeans, a skirt or even a dress. Pair your sneakers with whatever you like. You might think you look strange the first time you try this trend, but trust me, after you complete your day in school, you are going to love it.
Starting a new semester gives you the chance to completely reinvent your style. However, a common misconception most students have about back to school fashion is that to be “in” you have to buy a whole new wardrobe, which is not true.
Just because summer is almost over and fall is right around the corner does not mean you cannot still use your summer clothes. We can create cool outfits by layering summer shirts or blouses with fall staples like bomber jackets or jean jackets.

I like to combine summer dresses with jackets at the beginning of fall because the weather is still not cold enough to actually freeze my legs. You can also wear your dresses with a blouse or turtle neck under to make it look more appropriate for the season.
What has helped me a lot when choosing what I am going to wear for school is choosing my outfit right before going to bed. Doing this saves me time and I have no excuse for not wearing something pretty to school.
Dressing nicely has it perks: you give a good first impression to anyone you meet and you can be ready for any event you might have after your classes, like meetings, reunions and even dates.
Try this for the first few weeks of school until it becomes a habit. We do not need to sacrifice comfort for fashion, just staple them together and look great everyday!
