Every girl’s wardrobe is going to be different because we all have our own style preferences. Once you’re in college, you want to make fashion as easy as possible so it usually goes two ways. You’re either going to dress up or dress down. Either way you go, I believe there are some essentials that a college girl should not be without. These are a few that I find to be very valuable to the female wardrobe.
A College Tee
I feel like this should be a given, but surprisingly some girls don’t want to show off their school spirit. Honestly, my wardrobe would feel so incomplete without my Texas State T-shirt. A college tee is ideal for the times that you just want to be bummy and/or comfortable. I definitely wear mine on the days I’m running late and need something quick to throw on. At least it shows off the fact that I’m a proud Bobcat.
A Denim Button-Up
A denim shirt can be so versatile. Whether you want to button it up or throw it over another top, it can be your go-to article of clothing. I personally like matching my denim shirts with a v-neck and khaki jeans, but there are many different ways to rock it. The beauty of denim is that it can never really go out of style. So your denim shirt can be an important piece of your wardrobe forever.
A Pair of Dark Jeans
What I love about jeans with darker hues is that they can practically go with anything. They also look great throughout all seasons, so you can wear them whenever. I definitely wear my dark blue and black denim jeans the most. These jeans will always be helpful part of your wardrobe.
A Pair of Sneakers
It’s obvious that heels, boots, and flats are not always helpful in making those long walks across campus. That is why having a pair of sneakers is important. They don’t necessarily have to be the athletic kind, but I would go for something trendy and comfortable. My black Vans and white Converse are shoes that I wear on the regular because of their feel and look.
Hats are really underestimated accessories. I believe that they really come in handy for those bad hair days. I have a nice collection of “dad hats” that I can pick from for when my hair is just not cooperating and I don’t have the time to work with it. I also have a thing for fedoras. They are perfect for dressing up and they can really bring out the most from your outfit.
Now I know that most people use their phones to figure out the time, but a watch can make more of a statement than you think. They can be functional and trendy. They are great for when you feel like your wrist needs something to compliment your outfit. I personally love the look that smartwatches have, especially the Apple Watch. But you don’t always have to go for the most expensive watch out there. You just need something that adds a little bit more life into your look.
