The most refreshing thing a band can do is incorporate contrasting multiple music styles into a nice and neat package. The Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer intertwines raw blues with psychedelic upbeat energy in their fourth studio album Apocalipstick.

Matthew Rodgers and Shawn Hall created a head nodding album with vibrant guitar, gritty harmonica and solid percussion. The acoustic track, “Treat Me Kind” is a much needed reminder to simply be nice. It’s a beautifully simple song, consisting raspy vocals and a delicate female accompaniment, soothing guitar and melancholy harmonica. It’s the perfect balance to the brighter, stimulating tracks on the album.
