What if you could have everything you wanted just by asking for it? Majority of people would say it is impossible, but Rhonda Byrne says the complete opposite. In fact, in her book and movie The Secret, she explains it is our innate nature to attract what we want. This is called the Law of Attraction (LOA), which states that we attract what we want based on our thoughts. What is interesting is that this is not a new study; philosophers and other historic figures have known this for decades. So how is it done? According to Byrne, there are only a few steps required to get you what you want.
The basis of the LOA is that your thoughts become things. If you think negatively, you will get negative results. For instance, have you ever been in a rush and thought about being late to work, and then suddenly you keep catching red lights? Subconsciously, you attracted that outcome without even knowing it! Rhonda states this can also been done with positive thoughts. Basically, if you think positively, good things will come to you.
Not only does being grateful help you realize all the good things that happen to you throughout the day, but it also keeps you positive and in the right mindset to attract what you want. According to the LOA, if you are not being grateful and are focusing on the lack of stuff you have, you will only attract more lack. This means that you cannot attract what you want if you are not grateful for what you already have. A great way to do this is to have a gratitude journal and write down a list of things you are grateful for, even if it is just little things like the coffee you got this morning or being able to wear your favorite shirt.
Write it Down or Say it Out loud
It is important to be clear about what you want. Any confusion will make it harder to manifest your desires. Just thinking about it can be hard when other thoughts surface our minds in just a matter of seconds, so take the time to write down or say what you want out loud. Also, try to stick to one item at a time, as it can be difficult to juggle manifesting multiple things at once. Don’t hesitate to put it in details- the more specific, the better.
Envision What you Want
According to The Secret, the mind does not know the difference between reality and your visions. Essentially, you are thinking and imagining being at the beach, it evokes the same feeling that you would get from actually being at the beach. This means that just envisioning your desires will put you on same vibrational frequency as having your desires. This can be done through meditation or even just daydreaming.
Acting Like It is Already Yours
When attempting to get something you want, it is important to get out of the asking zone. If you ask for something over and over again, you are telling yourself that you do not have it yet. Rhonda states that you want to act like what you want is already yours and then you will attract it even faster. This can work physically, like sleeping on one side of your bed and leaving the other side empty to manifest a relationship, or mentally, looking at something and stating “that is the exact one I have.”
With these few steps given from The Secret, you should be well on your way to getting what you want. Remember, do not get caught up in blocking your blessings by thinking about what you cannot have. With the Law of Attraction, the sky is limit.
