Name: Ernesto
Age: 1-year-old
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Ernesto caught my attention because of the scars he had across his back. I knew when I saw him that I wanted to see how he reacted around people because I wasn’t sure what those scars were specifically from. Once I took him out I noticed he was very friendly. He wasn’t necessarily scared of me, but he took some time getting used to the fact that I was around and wouldn’t really approach me.
Once he got used to me, he had no hesitation in coming to me for lots of belly rubs! He was very sweet and jumped up to give me hugs and lots of kisses. He ran around in circles so many times I couldn’t even count. He would be great for any home with other pets or children to play with!
I asked around and most likely his scars are not from abuse. Many pups hide under cars when they get scared, and the engine burns their backs, which is most likely what happened to Ernesto.
For more information on Ernesto, click here. To see him, and other animals up for adoption, visit the San Marcos Animal Shelter on 750 River Road, San Marcos, TX 78666.
Also, in the month of December every animal at the shelter is adoptable for only $20 (complete with spay/neuter, kennel shots, rabies vaccines, microchip and city license).
