To My Web Content Family…

Here I am. Another semester completed and I’m only 90 percent stressed out, an accomplishment that should be celebrated. Classes were challenging, assignments kept me up all night and plenty of Ls were handed to yours truly. But during these past few months, I’ve had one thing to lift my spirits constantly. That was my Web Content family.

Let me brag about these gifted individuals a little bit. If you were to ask me who some of my favorite writers were, I’d direct you right to the Web Content tab on the KTSW blog and tell you to read up. The content produced by our staff is something noteworthy! From thought provoking articles to intimate stories, you feel like you know each writer personally. It’s not enough to just say I’m a fan of each of them and that I’m continuously supporting their work; I actually learn from them. They inspire me to be a better writer. They are like Mr. Miyagi and I’m Daniel (yes, this is a The Karate Kid reference). If they have that type of impact on me alone, I can only imagine what they can do for a bigger audience.

I’ve never been the one to have a lot of friends. In fact, I think this is the first year of my life where it took more than one hand to count the amount of friends I had. You ever just work with people and love it so much that an instant friendship is created? That’s what it’s like being on our staff. I get to be friends with people I look up to and perhaps may have never communicated with otherwise. But life let us cross paths and it doesn’t get much better than that. Hopefully, I’m not making our friendships up in my head and they actually feel the same way about me because I would probably cry sad tears otherwise. They just all mean a lot to me and I hope success follows them wherever they go.

Ending my first year with the Web Content staff has been so surreal. I honestly feel like I’ve been on the staff a lot longer, but you know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun. It’s rare for me to find a group of people that I truly feel like I gel with. People who I actually don’t feel so socially awkward around because I genuinely want to be their friends. People who show you love just for being yourself. The wonderful individuals of the Web Content staff give me that. And for that, I have so much love for them and I’m grateful for their presence.
