The one and only Fortress Festival is returning to Fort Worth, Texas for its second edition on April 28-29, 2018. Named the “Can’t Miss Music Festival of 2018” by Harper’s BAZAAR, this event will feature an outstanding lineup of over 20 bands including: Father John Misty, Chromeo, Courtney Barnett, Rapsody and more. If you haven’t heard of this trendy festival, Fortress Fest made its inaugural debut in 2017 showcasing the talent of Run the Jewels, Purity Ring and Flying Lotus, to name a few. This festival may be young, but clearly it’s a guaranteed good time!

In partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Fortress Festival drew more than 9,000 people from 33 different countries in 2017. The festival is expecting higher attendance in its second year, but general admission tickets are still only $99 for a weekend pass! They also offer VIP tickets, which come with everything from expedited entry, private VIP viewing areas, air-conditioned bathrooms, to free parking, a private cash bar with specialty drink options, discounts on merchandise and more for $265. Single day tickets are also available for both general admission and VIP, and are priced at $59 and $149 respectively.

If you choose to drive your car to the festival, parking will be $15 per car per day or $25 for the weekend. Parking passes can be purchased online before the festival or upon entering. Unlike a lot of festivals, attendees are allowed to leave and reenter as long as they have a valid pass! Fortress Festival also offers volunteer opportunities for those who would like to work the festival in exchange for a free ticket. You can find more information about that on their website.

Music will take place on three different stages from 1 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with Sunday’s schedule ending a little earlier at 10:15 p.m. Those who register for a ticket or make an account on their website can log in and build their own personal schedules! This festival is not a camping festival, but attendees can get 20 percent off a hotel reservation at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel by using the discount code “FORTRESS”.

At such a beautiful time of year and only a few hours away, it’s clear that Fortress Festival won’t be one you want to miss. Head on over to their website and get your ticket now!

I had seen Ibeyi’s name pop up in media the last couple of years, but I was not very familiar with their […]
