On May 5, 2018, the seventh annual music festival JMBLYA took place in Austin, Texas. The festival included a variety of rappers, some who are upcoming and some who are already established rappers from the hip-hop genre. This year, the set list included rappers like Jack Harlow, Ski Mask the Slump God, J. Cole, T.I. and many more. The most disappointing thing about the festival was the two different stages; this was one of the downsides of the festival because it made it hard to enjoy an act due to the fact of having to leave one stage early to secure yourself a good spot at the other stage.

This was my first year going to this music festival, and it was also my first time taking photos at a venue this large. Even though I only had a pass to bring my camera to the festival grounds and not the photo pit, I still tried to fight my way to a good spot to take photos of the rappers.

While it was a major struggle to protect my camera during the mosh pits in the crowd (which were present throughout the festival) it was worth it when I was able to take photos of some of my favorite artists. I also got to enjoy the energy they give to the crowd throughout their set. Some of my favorite artists that I got to see perform were Playboi Carti, T.I., Ski Mask The Slump God, and J. Cole. Overall it was a great way to end my first year of college and my first semester working at KTSW.

Revisionist Westerns seem preoccupied […]
