For When You Put On Your Favorite Panties: A Playlist

By Danielle Ortega

This playlist is for the day when you feel so yourself, and you’re feeling yourself! The day when you’ve just got to put on your favorite panties and dance in your mirror. This playlist is for the girlies and the gays and all of the beautiful groovy feelings they elicit.

Some stars of the mix:

“Beauty & Essex” by Free Nationals: I heard this song the other day on a Youtube mix I had playing, and WOW! There’s really not much I can say other than how absolutely groovy this song is. The Free Nationals are such a soulful, and amazing band, and they have graced us with this song.

“Sundress” by A$AP Rocky: A$AP released this song, a few days ago, and I’ve been listening to it constantly since then. It samples from Tame Impala’s song “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?”, and came with an extremely creative music video. It is reminiscent of something that would’ve been playing in a roller disco while flashing rainbow lights poured onto the skaters looping around.

“Lucky I Got What I Want” by LEISURE: This song is another one I’ve had on repeat the past few days. I first heard it in the movie “Nerve” and then again in a tattoo parlor. Despite a sharp needle going into my arm I couldn’t stop myself from dancing along. It made driving down the highway with the windows down feel beautiful, like it was a scene in a movie. The wind whipping through my hair, the sun shining brightly, and a chill running down my back.

Now go home fill up a bath and light some candles or lay with a lover.

  1. A new startup out of Westwood, Calif. called Lensabl is on a mission to keep your favorite frames on your face. Whether the old lenses are damaged, you need a new prescription or you want to switch to a different tint, the company’s site lets you swap out lenses for a direct replacement or something new.
