The Gender Unbound Art Fest , a non-profit, multi-discipline art festival will feature trans and intersex art for its fourth year on Sept. 18, 21 and 22 in Austin, Texas, at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar.
The mission of the Gender Unbound Art Fest is to affirm trans and intersex people through positive imagery and narratives created by talented artists. They also use community partnerships to connect attendees to valuable resources that promote mental, physical, social, and sexual health of trans and intersex people.
Gender Unbound Art Fest features artists from all around the world as well as from local communities, including both emerging and internationally-renowned artists. This year’s festival will feature 44 visual artists, 26 performers and 13 short films. To see the lineup of artist visit their website.
The festival is hosted by Gender Unbound, a nonprofit sponsored project of the Austin Creative Alliance and is supported by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. Gender Unbound is organized entirely by trans and intersex members, most of whom are artists themselves.
