The city of Austin hosts many creative artists, events and general outlets that many people of any background can genuinely enjoy. A big well-known popular event that the city hosts is referred to as South by Southwest which includes a large variety of music, film and interactive media which usually participates in March. This large attraction brings in a storm of people who come from all sorts of different backgrounds, young and old, local or foreign. I can rant about all the different artists and events that came to Austin, but I want to focus on the famous British rock band, The Zombies. I had the privilege to witness one of their many concerts here in the city of Austin which was an incredible experience. The venue and show were an immersive experience for new and old fans of the band. The Zombies had also been promoting a new album they released on March 31 this year.
Austin has been the place where creative freedom and self-expression could flourish, so the people you meet there are not all the same. You will run into people who are dedicated fans of the Zombies or new listeners of the band in this city. The band was brought by SXSW (South by Southwest) to perform in Butler Metro Park which was the ideal location for such a popular band. This venue was needed because the turnout for today was huge and the whole grassy terrain was littered with rock music enthusiasts. SXSW was able to display a large performance with a nice stage for the band to play while being visible to a huge crowd. The location had many convenient attributes that I appreciated. People with their dogs and kids were able to lay on the outskirts of the crowd and still be able to enjoy the performance. If you had a sort of disability the venue still made it possible with special seating for people with those needs. SXSW made it possible for anyone to join in the fun even if you can’t hear they had a designated sign translator for the whole show!

The Zombies have been in the music business for a long time, so you know their performances have been nailed down to provide their best display of their music. Like I’ve mentioned before the band has a new album that was released on March 31 named, “Different Game”. Please do yourself a favor and check out the album. The project was designed for our new century of music listeners and serves a perfect contribution to the British rock listening needs we all crave. The last time The Zombies had performed with SXSW was in 2013, so I’m happy SXSW had brought them out this year for all to hear. You don’t want to miss out on next year’s SXSW event in Austin because you’ll never know who you’ll run into. Hope to see you at SXSW next year on the front row of the show!
