San Marcos’s Window Shop, comprised of Nora Tomlinson, Dallas Anderson, Aiden Potter and Kevin Schultz, is a forward-thinking, indie rock band. Performance after performance, Window Shop defies conventional boundaries with its eclectic influences and dynamic performances.

At the core of Window Shop’s music lies a deep appreciation for all traditions of American music. Drawing inspiration from blues, jazz, punk and beyond, Window Shop displays a variety of styles in every performance that they give at local venues such as Private Park and Alchemy Records right here in San Marcos.
One of the hallmarks of Window Shop’s performances is their exploration of instrumentation. Their performances include instruments such as the electric keyboard and standing bass that are atypical of the local scene. This willingness to challenge genre norms has allowed Window Shop to cultivate a new and unique sound.
In March Window Shop unveiled their self-titled debut album, “Window Shop.” A testament to their years of dedication and collaboration, the album showcases their evolution as a band. From infectious hooks to introspective lyricism, each track is an ode to their boundless creativity.
Tracks like “Fixin’ to Die,” “Can’t Stand the Sunshine” and “Ain’t You Heard” are some of my personal favorites from the album. Here, the band’s proficiency shines through, as they navigate complex rhythms and intricate melodies with ease.
Window Shop is ever important to the San Marcos community not only because of the incredible music that they bring but also because they often play at philanthropic shows in which proceeds go to charitable causes. For example, Window Shop recently played at the “Trans Day of Vengeance” show at Private Park, where proceeds from the show were donated to the Kind Clinic and trans folks in San Marcos.
You can find Window Shop’s music on popular streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, so you can listen to them anywhere and every so often, they sell CDs at shows! Speaking of which, you can stay updated on their upcoming shows and latest releases by following them on Instagram @windoww.shop!
So, the next time you find yourself in San Marcos, be sure to keep an eye out for Window Shop. Whether they’re gracing the stage of a local venue or captivating audiences with their dynamic live sets, one thing is certain: a musical journey awaits, and Window Shop is leading the way.
