Cancel Culture Doesn’t Work

By Emily GarzaWeb Content Contributor Everyone has at least seen the hashtag “#XYZIsOverParty” or “#XYZIsCanceled” trending at one point or another. It is basically saying a celebrity or online figure is canceled because of something they said or did. This is cancel culture. Cancel culture, defined by Macmillan dictionary, is “the practice of no longer supporting people, especially celebrities, or products that are regarded as unacceptable or problematic.” The whole […]

Many, including me, were very excited about this new series coming up that has been in the works for about a year. No one really knew what to expect, but some were theorizing that Dawson and Jeffree Star were collaborating on a […]

Social media has brought a new wave of artist that makes people wonder, […]

Tiny Desk Concerts

By Jesse McMann Rap Music Journalist I would like to take this time to draw readers attention to another channel of music I have discovered. This new music outlet is called Tiny Desk Concerts by NPR. The quality of artists and setting in which the concerts are created work together to fulfill NPR’s vision of using music to further our nation's cultural understandings, and open up conversations about justice in […]

Concert Review: Tennis

By Victoria Roxanne Hill Music Journalist One month ago, I received a message on GroupMe from a classmate saying that she was starting a group message for tennis. The text was extremely confusing because I thought that I had accidentally signed myself up for an intramural somehow. I then remembered talking to her about our shared love for Tennis, the indie dream pop band from Denver, Colorado. We waited outside […]

Close Up, Far Away: A Different Kind of Concert

By Hannah Wisterman Music Journalist The year is 2013. Like any self-respecting indie teen of the time, I’m going through a heavy The xx obsession. My greatest, never-to-be-fulfilled dream is to go to Coachella, a veritable playground of all the best bands (as I was so convinced). As a night owl who also happened to more or less live on the internet, I was doing my usual routine of diving […]

So imagine my surprise when I scrolled down to the comments of a YouTube video and found someone declaring, “Guess I found the weird part of YouTube again,” on a clip that fit right into my daily life. The video? An ASMR video featuring camera touching and […]

Make Money Eating Food

By Brent Ramirez Blog Content Contributor If you’re reading this article, I’m assuming you saw the title and thought, “Okay, I’m listening…” First of all let me say no, this is not a personal ad I’m putting out there. I am not paying anyone to eat food with me because I’m lonely. That idea was canned the second I received a restraining order (kidding, mostly). No, I’m here to tell […]
