Other Side Drive In Reverse

A Great week in Other Side Drive ville…highway? You get it. This week included the third Thursday of the month which means KTSW put together a nice little show for you; and Other Side Drive brought you exclusive interviews with the bands playing that night! Here’s our daily breakdown:

On Monday, Halie and Charlie were joined by My Empty Phantom which opened up the show at our Third Thursday Event. He talked about his experience touring in England and how good it feels to be back in Texas after the tour. Halie and Charlie had a second guest this week: Major Major Major opened up their interview with a song which apparently was written about their love for horror movies! Aside from talking about their favorite horror movies, they also talked about their music having a more punk-garage feel to it before they became a four-piece. They say their music has a much poppier ring to them which we got a little taste of since they did play a couple of sweet tunes for us in the studio.

The second band that played at our Third Thursday Event was SuperLiteBike! They joined Anyssa in the studio to talk about how they came to be and their ‘lite’ name. They talked about their sound and the bands they dream to tour with. Anyssa had some pretty good tricky questions for them, and they had a lot of fun answers!

On Thursday, Garrett and Stephanie did some staff picks of a song they’ve had stuck in their head recently. Garrett picked “Bad Girl” by Devendra Banhart, and Stephanie picked an Austin band: The Preservation with their song “Happiness.”
