Last Friday Texas State University received a gift from the University Federal Credit Union for $625,000 to help support scholarships and programs on campus.
40% of UFCU gifts will go straight to student scholarships. This will help relieve some financial stress that students have about paying for college and will allow campus organizations and programs to grow and provide resources and activities that enrich campus life.
Student Government met at 7 p.m. today to discuss the future of its involvement with the expansion of LBJ and to possibly increase their role in the process.
Supreme Court Justice for Student Government Cody DeSalvo says that it is important that Student Government plays more of a central role in the process because Texas State students’ money is involved.
The Texas State University Department of Philosophy is hosting a series of dialogues this week in Texas State’s Comal Building that will cover civil and human rights. There will be a dialogue at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow called “Ancient Origins of Human Rights in Natural Law.”
San Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero has proclaimed October Fire Prevention Month. The San Marcos Fire Department wants to remind residents to make sure their smoke alarms are working. To kick of Fire Prevention Month, the fire department will be hosting an Open House at the fire station at 11 a.m. Saturday.
