Micah Dinwiddie was named SBC Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first time a freshman has won this award since the Sun Belt went to a four-award weekly system. Dinwiddie was given the Freshman of the Week award, as well.
These accolades stemmed from the true freshman’s performance against UTA on Oct. 13. She recorded a career-high 31 digs in a 3-1 win over the Mavericks in Arlington. That dig total was good for 7.75 digs pers set.

31 digs is good for the best four-set dig total in the SBC this season. Dinwiddie is averaging 4.45 digs per set in conference, which ranks her fourth in the Sun Belt in that category.
The Bobcats have been stealing the SBC weekly accolades. In the past two weeks, the Bobcats have earned five of the eight total awards. Megan Porter took freshman of the week last week, so this makes two straight Freshman of the Week awards for Texas State players.
The Bobcats travel to Georgia for dual games this weekend. First taking on Georgia State on Friday at 5 p.m. and then Georgia Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
