Local drag queens and fellow Bobcats, the Haus of Heaven, announced that their next show, “The Pink Party: Femme Fantasy,” will take place at 11 p.m. Nov. 3 at San Marcos’ LGBTQ-friendly dance bar, Stonewall Warehouse, and will have an all-pink dress code.

Performers for the event include The Haus of Heaven’s Mars, Tequila Rose, Cherry Haze, and Sandy C. Biscuit as well as Miss Stonewall 2017 Tasha Fierse Kennedy, Veronica Valentine and DJ Omen.

The Haus of Heaven is a drag collective made up of four Texas State students who go by Mars, Tequila Rose, Cherry Haze, and Sandy C. Biscuit when in drag. After months of performing in Stonewall Warehouse’s weekly “Get Schooled Tuesdays” (now “Get Schooled Thursdays”) and “Friday Night Spotlight,” the haus was offered a monthly residency to curate and host a show of their own on the first Saturday of each month, and have since July.

“[These shows] are a chance to create something totally our own and they give us free reign over the format, theme, and design,” said Mars. Mars is Oil Can Harry’s Drag Survivor Season 10 winner and a BFA technical theatre student with an emphasis in costume.

Not only are the Haus of Heaven drag performers, they are students, best friends, and roommates.

“Stonewall [Warehouse] is my safe haven,” said Tequila Rose, an all-level theatre teacher certification student. “It’s the place I’ve gotten to express myself artistically through drag and it has introduced me to the individuals in my life that mean the world to me.”

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in the theme–pink–and be ready to dance (and tip because, as Alaska once said, “It takes a lot of money to look this cheap, darling!”)

The event is 18+ only. There is a $7 cover charge for attendees under 21. Attendees 21+ are free.

The Crucible: Review

I had the pleasure of attending a few rehearsals of the upcoming production. Under the direction of Michael Costello, Salem and its intolerance come to life in a stark reflection of today.
