Enraged, infuriated, sadness and despair. These are just a few of the words that encapsulate the feelings of Black Americans and people today after the murder of George Floyd due to excessive police force. This situation has lit a fire over hundreds of years of oppression against the Black community at the hands of police.

Protestors have been gathering all across the world in support of the Black Lives Matter movement seeking justice for not only Floyd but Ahmaud Arbery, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and the countless others that have lost their life unfairly.

KTSW’s hip-hop journalists Jason Arline, Christopher Brocker, Ethan Hamilton and Gage Sutton have each selected ten songs by Black artists that discuss the racial injustices that occur in the United States, as well as anthems to uplift the Black community.

It’s time to take a stand. Underneath are the organizations that each of the four journalists chose to support, and we here at KTSW encourage you to donate and sign petitions so that we can ignite change!
