The weather is getting cooler, leaves are changing colors, pumpkins are being sold at the grocery stores and Starbucks’ fall drinks have hit their menu. This only means one thing, fall has arrived.

Now with living away at college, fall may just seem like it will quickly leave us because we are going to be working on homework for the next few months until it is winter break but have no fear, you are in great hands with a fall lover.

Of course, one way to celebrate fall is through decorating for Halloween with cute, or spooky, decorations, planning costumes, spooky movie nights with your friends or even having fun telling ghost stories.

Another way of ensuring a joyous fall would be to embrace the fall harvest and comfort vibes. With the help of my fun-filled list, you can find yourself a way to embrace the lovely season of fall.

First, we have pumpkin patches!  Yes, you can find pumpkins at your local grocery store, but what about being able to go to the field that they are grown and finding yourself your own special pumpkin?  Or maybe even a gourd. Pumpkin patches offer great photo opportunities and a day of fun with your friends or family. I know my family tries to go to a pumpkin patch every year so that we can have some fun together.

A bonus with some pumpkin patches is that sometimes they will have other events going on with their pumpkin patch. One of my favorite pumpkin patches is Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls, Texas. They have a corn maze that changes the theme of every year, and this year’s theme is “Singin’ across Texas.” They are going to have QR codes at all of their locations that will play the song about the Texas town.

At Sweet Berry Farms, they also have flower picking, goat feeding, scarecrow stuffing and children’s activities. If you get in the snack mood while visiting, they have yummy ice cream, jams, and other foods depending on when you visit.

Other ways to ensure you have a joyous fall is to sit back and relax in a cozy space that enables you to keep yourself relaxed, visit with emotions if they hit you like they sometimes do or a place to just feel cozy.

The best way I have found to do this is to light some fall-scented candles like pumpkin spiced  candles or warm baking smells, but if you aren’t into candles there are also essential oils you can use.

You could also make your space cozy by getting some fairy lights (aka string lights) for your room. I recently added a small string of warm fairy lights around my bed, and they made my space 100 times cozier than it was before.

Although there is not one singular way to ensure a joyous fall, I believe making your living space as comfy and cozy as possible is the best start, then branch yourself out to making plans with your friends or family and even take some time to yourself to enjoy fall landscapes.
