Rattlers Fall to Judson Rockets in Home Blowout

SAN MARCOS, Texas— The San Marcos Rattlers endured a tough night on Friday, suffering a 55-3 defeat to the Judson Rockets at Toyota Rattler Stadium. The Rattlers struggled to find momentum on offense and were shut out for much of the game.
Judson took control early, heading into halftime with a commanding 48-0 lead. The Rockets dominated on both sides of the ball, consistently exploiting gaps in San Marcos’ defense and shutting down any attempts at sustained drives by the Rattlers.
The third quarter opened with more bad news for San Marcos. On the first play from scrimmage after halftime, the Rockets extended their lead with another quick score, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The Rattlers finally managed to avoid the shutout midway through the third quarter, as they put three points on the board with a field goal at the 7:55 mark.
In the fourth quarter, San Marcos shifted to a chew-clock strategy, focusing on maintaining possession and limiting Judson’s opportunities. Despite their efforts to play keep-away, the Rattlers were unable to recover from the early deficit.
With the loss, the Rattlers drop to 0-8, (0-3) and look to regroup as they prepare for their next game on the road this Friday night at 7:30 PM against the scorching hot Cibolo Steele Knights who are 6-1, (3-0) on the season.
